Hot Fudge Sundae Cake

Yum!!!!!  Easy fabulous topping for ice cream.  Very impressive and delicious.  Taken from Betty Crocker’s Cookbook.

2 Cups all purpose flour
1 ½ cups granulated sugar
4 Tbl. Cocoa powder
4 tsp. baking powder
¼ tsp. salt
1 cup milk
4 Tbl. Vegetable oil
1 Tbl. Vanilla
2 cups packed brown sugar
½ cup cocoa powder
3 ½ cups hottest tap water

Heat oven to 350.  Mix flour, sugar, 4 Tbl. Cocoa, BP and salt in an ungreased dripper pan.  Stir in milk, oil, vanilla with a fork until smooth.  Spread in pan.
Sprinkle evenly with the brown sugar and the ½ cup cocoa (mixed thoroughly together first)
Pour the hot water over the batter.
Bake about 45 minutes.  It will not look done, but hey, it’s hot fudge sauce.  It will be cake on top and a wonderful fudge sauce on the bottom.  Bring out the vanilla ice cream and scoop the sundae cake on top. Best when still warm out of the oven of course.

Variations:  Add nuts and/or miniature marshmallows.
