Congo Squares

(Chocolate chip bar cookies)
passed on to me from Grandma Una Nelson )

Mix thoroughly:
1 pkg. Brown sugar (2 ½ c.)
2/3 c. oil
3 eggs one at a time
2 ¾ c. flour
1/4 t. salt
2 ½ t. baking powder

Combine and add ½ pkg. Chocolate chips and  1 C. nuts (optional).  Pour into well-greased “dripper” pan.  Bake at 350* for 25-30 mins. or until done… (knife or toothpick test).
